Attacks were nothing new on Terra Venture--right from the onset, they'd been plagued by Scorpius's forces. This guy was new, though, and he certainly wasn't the monster that had been sent after the Lights of Orion. He was just out for "treasure."

"I won't let you get them!" she insisted, striking back with her Quasar Saber. She had to take her steps carefully, however. Earlier that day, she'd come across that monster and had taken a blast to her leg with a spell paper. A stabbing pain was shooting through it, and it wasn't easy willing herself to ignore it.

Honestly Kaitou wasn't planning on getting involved. He had heard that there was a lot of treasure here but there was also attacks.

Moving through the dome, he came across the surprising fight there. "Well this is new..."

Looking at her, he turned to go... but he paused, looking at the girl's injured state. "..."

The monster was a small fry--someone Scorpius hadn't even bothered to worry about. It meant that it didn't take much to stop him. Kendrix pulled back and activated her Transdagger.

"Beta Bow!" she cried, firing arrows at it.

It exploded easily, and once she was sure it wasn't going to turn giant-sized, she collapsed to the ground, demorphing and rubbing her leg.

Kaitou sighed. This was something he wasn't planning on doing but... he went over. "Hey."

He wasn't too surprised that this was someone from the community, but he still shrugged it off.

Kendrix looked up in surprise. "I met you--you're from the community, right? Daiki Kaitou?"

She didn't try to get up at first, but she did stop rubbing at her leg.

"Yeah. I was just around the dome when I noticed you fighting there. What's he after anyhow?" inquired Kaitou, kind of interested in whatever she was protecting.

"...You're not even fazed by the fact that I morphed into a Power Ranger," Kendrix pointed out.

Now, bracing herself against a tree, she got to her feet. "Luckily, not what we're fighting to protect. I think he was just a raider, trying to steal some of our supplies. Which is bad itself, so I had to stop him."

"I've seen odder," replied Kaitou flippantly to the first bit before shrugging.

"Raiders huh... not as interesting as other things. Treasures perhaps maybe but what is there on this ship?"

Kendrix hesitated. It wouldn't do telling the whole galaxy and then some about what was going on here, but she had the feeling she could trust Kaitou. She couldn't help but believe in him.

"It's not so much what's here as much as what everyone thinks is here," she explained. "Three-thousand years ago, an energy source known as the Lights of Orion were released into the universe. Scorpius believes they ended up here on Terra Venture. And if he gets hold of them, the entire galaxy could be in danger."

"I see... And this treasure everyone is thinking of taking for themselves. What do they do exactly? Or is that even known?" inquired Kaitou.

Kendrix shrugged. "Unfortunately, we don't know much about what happened back then. The war happened on the planet Mirinoi, which was just completely destroyed, and their history was passed down by oral tradition. But we do know that it would grant great power to whoever claimed them."

She was leaning heavily against that tree now, and beads of sweat were forming on her forehead as she tried to shift her weight off her injured leg.

"Great Power... sounds like an irreplaceable treasure. I can go looking for it if you want."

"I'd just be happy keeping it out of Scorpius's hands," she said, slumping against the tree.

Kaitou sighed. "Well you're hurt. First lets get you to a hospital and then I'll go looking for it. There isn't anything I can't obtain."

"I won't need a hospital," she insisted. "I'll be fine."

Except that there went her leg again, and she fell right to the ground.

Yeah right. Rolling his eyes, he proclaimed, "You hero types are so stubborn." And he grasped her arm as the world around them turned a liquid silver.

"I'm taking you to a hospital off-world then. I know a place."

Kendrix hadn't expected that in the least. As the grey curtain surrounded them, she looked up in surprise.

"What are you doing?"

"Jumping worlds," replied Kaitou as the grey curtain washed over them, dropping them in front of a Japanese hospital. Turning towards a couple of orderlies who were standing by them, he addressed them quickly. They nodded and came over, holding out their hands to help her up.

"They'll get that injury attended to. Free of charge. I did this hospital a favor a long time ago."

"What kind of favor did you do?" Kendrix asked as the staff helped her into a wheelchair.

"Retrieved something the director lost long ago. It was nothing important." replied Kaitou. "But it was his treasure after all."

"So you go all over different worlds, looking for treasures to bring back to people?" Kendrix asked, intrigued but a little skeptical.

"Or for myself. Treasures are important to me. As with to everyone else." Kaitou smirked a little. "It's my whole meaning in a sense."

"There's got to be more to you than that," Kendrix insisted.

Kaitou shrugged at that. "It's worked out for me for the most part. Finding treasure and all."

Kendrix shook her head. "Someone only interested in treasure wouldn't drop everything to help me like that. You're better than you think you are."

Kaitou snorted. "Please. I'm not like most people."

"I didn't say you were. But you're not giving yourself enough credit. I'm the body double for a spoiled actress pretending to have an injury. If you were as flippant as you think you are, you'd be calling in sick too."

Kaitou sighed as he pointed at her. "You can read people way too well for my own comfort."

"I spend my days studying datasets," she teased. "I'm used to picking up what most people miss."

"Touche. Well, that wound'll get tended to and I can drop you off back at your world."

He regarded her for a moment. "They're not going to worry if you drop off your world for a bit right?"

Kendrix shrugged. "If I explain it to Alpha, he might understand. We've been working hard to keep Ranger business as quiet as possible on the colony."

"Alpha? Your adviser I take it?" inquired Kaitou. He never really had a mentor, beyond his own brother.

"Kind of?" Kendrix answered with a shrug. "He's help on the technology side. He was an advisor to past teams, but we're completely new, and Kai kind of kidnapped him."

Kaitou snorted, smirking a little. "I'm beginning to like your team mates. I usually work alone though."

"It's a long story," she promised. "And you might want to try having some friends along. It might not be so bad."

Kaitou made a face at the thought of having tagalongs. "Well, we'll see about it..."
