Character Notes: Kendrix is killed in canon, sacrificing herself to save her predecessor. She pretty much ascends to a higher plane of existence and occasionally reappears to help advise her friends. She gets better.
History: To recap the backstory of Earth in the Power Rangers canon: Evil has been attacking the hapless planet since Rita Repulsa was freed from imprisonment in 1993, followed by Lord Zedd in 1994, an alliance between the two in 1995, the Machine Empire in 1996, Divatox in 1997, and a united alliance of evil set up by Dark Specter and commanded by Astronema in 1998. Every time these enemies struck, they were thwarted by a team of teenagers with attitude, the Power Rangers. However, under Astronema, evil very nearly won, had it not been for a last-ditch battle for the freedom of Earth waged by the citizens of Angel Grove and the Power Rangers, and the sacrifice of the Rangers' mentor Zordon.

In the not-too-distant future of 1999, the people of Earth had it with the constant alien invasions and the horrifying near-victory of evil. While they were grateful to the Power Rangers for saving them and apparently banishing evil from the entire universe, they presumably decided that the aliens could just have the planet, and thousands of people boarded the space colony Terra Venture in the search for a new world beyond our galaxy. The GSA was charged with running and protecting the colony, and Kendrix was both part of the science team and the defense team, alongside her friends from the command crew, Head Security Officer Mike Corbett (second-in-command to Commander Stanton, who ran the expedition) and Communications Officer Kai Chen. But as Terra Venture was preparing to leave, Mike's younger brother, Leo, stowed away and wound up colliding with Kendrix. He apologized and helped her up, picking up all of her things and shoving them at Kai before making a break for it. When they learned he was a stowaway, Kendrix covered for him, impressed with him despite Kai's misgivings, giving Leo a chance to hide out among the defense team.

However, evil still lurks in the darkest reaches of the universe, and old grudges die hard. Three-thousand years ago, on the distant planet of Mirinoi, a conqueror named Scorpius had waged war across the galaxy. Five brave warriors defeated him with their powerful Quasar Sabers, and they stuck them within a stone for millennia of peace. The greatest warriors of the galaxy tried to remove the swords from the stone, but to no avail. Until one day, Scorpius sent his general Furio to Mirinoi to try to retrieve the Sabers again. In the attack, a young Mirinoian woman named Maya stumbled into a wormhole and was sent to our moon. There, the GSA was running a defense exercise (yes, in Power Rangers, you can breathe on the moon, shut up), and she wound up right in the middle of it, with a couple of Furio's Stingwingers following her. After the battle, she explained her situation to Mike, Leo, Kai, and Kendrix, and without hesitation, Mike and Kendrix agreed to go through the wormhole to help her people. Leo ran through too before it closed, leaving Kai to hijack the Astro Megaship (the spaceship previously belonging to the last group of Power Rangers) and its mechanic, Damon Henderson, and set off after them. The six of them unite just in time to face off against Furio, but they were vastly outnumbered and outgunned. In desperation, Mike pulled at one of the Quasar Sabers and was able to remove it, striking back against Furio. With everyone pausing in shock, Kai, Damon, Maya, and Kendrix went to the stones and pulled out the Sabers as well. However, Furio decided that if Scorpius couldn't have the Sabers, no one could, and he cast a spell that slowly began turning everything on the planet to stone. To prevent the six from escaping, he also cracked open a crevice in the ground, and Mike fell in. Though Leo tried to pull his brother to safety, Mike knew he couldn't hold on much longer and that the Quasar Saber was more important. Telling his brother to carry on for him, he handed over the Saber and allowed himself to fall, and the crevice closed up. Though devastated, the five joined together, with the Quasar Sabers glowing. In a bolt of energy, they transformed into the Power Rangers, with Kendrix as the Pink Ranger. They manage to escape to the Megaship, thrilling Alpha 6, the robot serving aboard the ship, that a new team of Rangers has been born. The Megaship returned to our own galaxy through the wormhole and docked with Terra Venture as it took off for the new world.

Thwarted from gaining the Quasar Sabers and later, the Transdaggers, Scorpius set his sights on the ancient Lights of Orion, a mystical, semi-sentient power source that would grand him untold power. He believed they had come to rest on Terra Venture somewhere, but the Rangers continued to defeat him. Discoveries such as the Galactabeasts, ancient animals that could transform into machines called the Galactazords and then unite into the powerful Galaxy Megazord, allowed them to achieve victory time and time again. Impatient with his constant failures, Scorpius kicked out Furio, who ended up running into Leo, and they held their final battle. Furio self-destructed, badly injuring Leo, but a mysterious warrior rescued him from certain death. The Magna Defender was a tortured, antiheroic soul who had lost his young son to Scorpius three-thousand years ago, and he was willing to do whatever it took to bring Scorpius down, making him a formidable opponent for the Rangers whenever they clashed. The Rangers managed to gain control over the Lights, preventing either Scorpius or the Magna Defender from wreaking havoc with them, but they learned that Magna Defender had a secret. Something had been holding him back from causing too much collateral damage and certainly from harming the others. He had been trapped within the same crevice on Mirinoi that Mike had fallen into, and when Mike appeared, he stopped his fall. Since the Magna Defender was too wounded to fight but had a strong will, he took over Mike's body and used his strength and fighting prowess to continue his quest for vengeance. But Mike's spirit was recovering and guilt-tripping him with pain every time he strayed from the path of good. Magna Defender finally released Mike and sacrificed his life to save the Rangers and all of Terra Venture, finally being reunited with his son. Mike reunited with his friends and became the new Magna Defender.

The Rangers managed to recover an ancient text called the Galaxy Book from a besieged ship, and Kendrix and the rest of the science division began work on translating it. It led them to the lost Phoenix, Rhino, and Shark Galactazords, which had been remodeled by Scorpius's new general, Deviot, into the Stratoforce Megazord, the Centaurus Megazord, and the Zenith Carrierzord. Deviot proved to be quite a challenge, betraying Scorpius in an attempt to seize power, only for Scorpius's daughter, Trakeena, to take up the throne. Trakeena was a dangerous enemy by herself, but she managed to locate the most dangerous enemies known to the Power Rangers, the Psycho Rangers, who had been custom-designed to fight against the previous team of Rangers. They had all the powers of the Ranger they were counterpart to, and they were obsessed with defeating that particular Ranger. Trakeena had the Psychos capture all of the Rangers but Leo and Mike, who were aided by Andros, the Red Space Ranger, in rescuing them. The Rangers were ready to take on the Psychos, but Andros's former team joined in the battle too, allowing for the Galaxy and Space Rangers to double-up against the Psychos.

Together, the eleven Power Rangers destroyed the Psycho Rangers, but unknown to them, Psycho Pink managed to survive. Deviot found her and brought her back to Trakeena, with the intent of repairing and reprogramming her, but Psycho Pink fought against her programming and escaped. Accessing Terra Venture's computer network, she managed to get into Kendrix's computer, where the Pink Galaxy Ranger was translating from the Galaxy Book and had discovered the existence of a dangerous weapon on a nearby planet, the Savage Sword. Psycho Pink absorbed the information from Kendrix's mind and took off for the planet, and Kendrix and her predecessor, Cassie, hurried to stop her. Meanwhile, Trakeena took advantage of the situation by sending her forces after the other Rangers to delay them. Below on the planet, Psycho Pink located the Savage Sword and began to fight against Kendrix and Cassie, the sword becoming stronger with every blow. She managed to destroy Cassie's morpher, which began draining the life force from the Pink Space Ranger while transferring it to Psycho Pink, allowing her to transform into a giant monster. The other Rangers defeated her in the Galaxy and Astro Megazords, but the Sword was still draining away Cassie's energy. Determined to set things right and save her friend, Kendrix charged into the swirling energy vortex and destroyed the Sword, but she was caught in the explosion and killed. Appearing as a spirit before her friends, she assured them she was okay and she would always be with them before she disappeared and her Quasar Saber took off for parts unknown.

Though Kendrix had lost her life, she still tried to help her friends. She learned that her Quasar Saber had ended up in evil hands and warned Maya in a dream, and the Rangers tried to find it. However, Karone, the reformed Astronema of the previous season, managed to find it and tried to get it back to them. Impressed with Karone's heroism and determination to do the right thing, Kendrix picked her to become the new Pink Ranger. With Karone's help, the Rangers fought their way against Trakeena and through the mysterious Lost Galaxy, finally reaching Mirinoi once more. As Terra Venture planned to settle on the dead world as their new home, the Rangers placed their Sabers back in the stone, knowing their mission was over. But the energies within the Quasar Sabers went all over the planet, restoring life to the world, and to Kendrix, who asked them what took so long. Once again back with her friends, she thanked Karone for all she'd done, and the seven former Rangers happily celebrated their new world.

A year later, Kendrix returned, along with Damon, Kai, and Maya, to aid Leo and the Lightspeed Rescue Power Rangers on Earth when Trakeena returned to join forces with Queen Bansheera's demons. The two teams of Rangers defeated her once and for all before returning to Mirinoi.
Personality: Kendrix is a brilliant young woman and extremely dedicated to her work—to the point that she has pulled a few all-nighters by mistake because she was too focused on her work. It was her diligent research that led the Rangers to the discovery of two new Galactazords and prevented the others from destroying them in error. She takes this dedication into battle with her as a fierce and determined Ranger—never giving up the fight. She's enthusiastic and friendly, supportive of her friends and always willing to help a friend in need. She is a confidante for the straight-laced and easily depressed Kai and a close friend to the displaced Maya. She is drawn to other people, able to see the good in them and wanting to help them. It's rare when she gets angry, but when she does, she explodes. But she's the first one to try to make amends, too kindhearted to remain angry with someone for long. Forgiveness is an easy quality for her, whether it's forgiving a friend for a transgression or choosing the young woman most in need of redemption to be her successor.

But there is a serious problem in her dedication and her kindness, and it's that she is downright reckless when it comes to herself. When she makes a promise, you bet she is going to keep it no matter how badly it hurts her. Because she promised to help as a double for a supposedly injured actress, she continued to push herself well beyond her physical limits, all while she herself was barely able to walk from a bad injury in battle. She continued right into battle, where she limped her way through with two leg injuries and still managed to defeat the monster. When Leo was about to destroy the attacking Centaurus and Stratoforce Galactazords in battle, she stood right in the way of his motorcycle and let herself get hit just to stop him. And when she makes a mistake, she takes her failing personally and will do at nothing to fix it. This is what cost her her life. She blamed herself for Psycho Pink gaining the information on the Savage Sword, and so she took off with only Cassie—a chance encounter—to back her up. She called for backup while she was already en route, allowing the other two teams of Rangers to be severely delayed. And when Cassie fell, her morpher destroyed and her energy being siphoned, Kendrix marched into the swirling energy vortex, ignoring it as it batted against her, and destroyed the Savage Sword, knowing she would never survive.
Other:

As the Pink Galaxy Ranger, Kendrix takes her powers from the Quasar Saber, which are channeled through the Transmorpher in order to morph. Her element is flowers. Her Galactabeast is the Wildcat, which transforms into a Galactazord (a mechanical version of the beast) and can join with the other Galactazords to form the Galaxy Megazord. Her weapons other than the Quasar Saber include:

Transdagger: a dagger that can be configured into a number of different settings, though she tends to prefer the Beta Bow and occasionally the Trans Blaster
Quasar Launcher: a staff that doubles as a bazooka

The Lights of Orion provide light armor and a considerable burst to her firepower, but they require all five Rangers in order to work. The ultimate attack is for the Rangers' powers to pool together in a ball of light that speeds at the enemy, destroying it.

Kendrix also has access to a small, armed spacecraft called the Jet Jammer, but she has no access to worldhopping technology. Well, unless it's in the Galaxy Book or happens via random wormhole.

First Person (entry type):

[Kendrix is at her computer, her hair disheveled and her glasses off, looking tired.]

Okay, I pulled another all-nighter. I admit it. But you're never going to believe what I found! There are entire chapters in this book dedicated to the war 3000 years ago, with the original Rangers who wielded the Sabers! I wonder if it means that the writer came from Mirinoi, if all of the Sabers came from there and the Magna Defender was imprisoned there. I wish we'd gotten along better so that we could have asked him where he originally came from. Maybe Mike knows.

...I'm rambling now, aren't I? [She laughs.] All right. That's enough studying for me. I'm going to bed, and I'll try not to wake up half the colony on the way.

Third Person:

Another day, another battle, another time Leo had gotten himself landed in the Megaship's infirmary. Kendrix wasn't sure whether or not she felt sorry for him anymore. It was worrying, she thought, the way he just kept running into trouble. Of course, he was the first to point out how reckless she could be too.

He was bleeding through one of his bandages. Quickly, she got up and grabbed another roll and applied it over the existing bandage, applying pressure until no more red seeped out.

"We're going to run out at this rate," she sighed. Already, Terra Venture was beginning to run low on certain supplies. The quest to find the new world was becoming more and more urgent.

"I wonder how well Damon can get the hyperdrive working," she mused. "At least then, we could head to a friendly planet for some help." Maybe not Earth, but was KO-35 anywhere near?

Just then, her communicator sounded off. It was reflex now to check and make sure nobody else heard it, and fortunately for her, Leo was still asleep. Heading into the hall, Kendrix brought her morpher up close. "What is it, Kai?"

"We've got a sight on Treacheron's monster now. It's on an asteroid not too far from here—we can get there by Jet Jammer. Looks like Magna Defender's there too."

"We can't let them get the Lights," Kendrix insisted. "I'll be there right away."

She ended the call and looked up at one of the cameras on the ship. "DECA, if Leo wakes up, don't let him come after us."

"Understood," the ship's AI replied.

Nodding, Kendrix raced to the Jet Jammer bay. "Go galactic!"
