Go to bed, Kendrix

[Kendrix is at the computer in her quarters this time, her hair down, in PJs, and with her glasses off. And judging by the way the lights are out, it's well past bedtime. So she's keeping her voice down.]

Sorry I haven't been on lately. We found this strange book a couple of days ago when we went to rescue a damaged ship. [She holds up a photo] So far, we haven't had any luck translating anything in it, though given all of the depictions of different galaxies, we're calling it the Galaxy Book. It's been a nonstop project lately in the Science Division. I figured I'd make some copies to work on later... [She yawns suddenly.]

Guess I'm not getting else done tonight, not without a lot of coffee, at least.

[A couple of minutes later, she's got them in and grinning.]

Nice. If my roommate wasn't asleep already, I'm pretty sure she'd be saying the same thing.

What time do you have to get up in the morning anyway?

I'm due at 8, and it's...2:30 now.

If you don't get enough sleep you're not going to have a clear enough mind to figure it out, you know.

I know I do. Anyway, you'll snore if you're really tired too. Most people snore more when they get less sleep.

Maybe I'll have to stay up later then, so I don't wake up my roommate with my snoring.

Good, I'm starting to feel like a mother hen and it's weird.

We should see about putting together some kind of mother hen club, then. That way, when they see someone working overtime or going out in the rain without an umbrella, nobody else has to worry about them.

I would never in a million years join that club. I'm probably more like a Mama Lion if it comes to that, actually.

No, lions do the yelling and the throwing that too. Haven't you ever watched the discovery channel?

Kind of hard to get good TV reception in space.

I'm from the afterlife, tell me about it. The library's all full of educational videos though, so discovery channel's on it.

So the afterlife doesn't include anything good on TV? I wonder if you can bring movies with you.

It's not like we've got satellites hanging out beaming down recent TV. I don't even have a cell phone, I use my laptop since I had Takeyama rig it to work with the world's Angel Player network.

Well, they say it's a good idea to have a living will. I guess for me, it'll be a list of movies.

Who knows. I didn't even start here in the clothes that I died in though, so I'm not sure how that'd work.

That is a little confusing, yeah.

It worked out though. We got someone to work on new outfits and now I can worldhop so I can go get whatever I want selling off things.
